Thanks for another great trip to Redfish Heaven! A subtropical depression parked off the coast, a smokey haze from the wildfires, and then some rain made for a lousy day. We almost stuck out, but you saved the day. After a 15 minute fight involving line stripping and two laps around the boat, we landed the 36", 17.5# beauty found in the Gallery...blue raincoat, big grin! |

Nate, I had a great time! I have fished for redfish now for 2 years from the Texas gulf to North Carolina and although the fish were at times difficult, I did manage to catch my first redfish actually "sightfishing." Your expert boat positioning and way of creating a "non-stressful" atmosphere, allowed me to belay my usual buck fever and cast accurately. We caught a few, hooked a few more, and "Oh my God!" got some shots at 36+ inch redfish cruising the flats...unbelievable! I'll definitely be back, perhaps this fall, to try and catch that huge trout we spooked! |

I've fished many places in the world and spent a lot of time in the keys and 10-thousand island area, and I found this fishery to certainly hold large numbers of reds. A day of fishing with your son can't be beat and Captain Nathaniel helped to make it a day that will be remembered. Sight fishing is my favorite way to fish and Captain Nathaniel put us on at least 50 tailing fish. I was able to bring two nice reds to the boat but was outdone by my 11 year old son who caught two of his own and won our little tournament by landing a lady fish.
